Irish Youth Baseball

Emerald Diamond International was founded in 2006 to support the development of amateur baseball programs in Ireland. As our geographical footprint has expanded to include work in America and other countries, our impact in Ireland remains a source of great pride and a central focus to our work.

Our Irish Youth Baseball program continues our work in Ireland via school-based instruction, after-school clubs, and partnerships with youth sports associations in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Irish Youth Baseball

Baseball in Primary Schools

Our school-based programs teach the basics of the game in physical education classes and afterschool clubs. Our program, delivered by our partners at Healthy Kidz, focuses on basic rules and gameplay, as well as the skills of hitting, catching, and throwing.

Partnership with GAA Rounders Clubs

Rounders is a game played throughout Ireland with the same basic rules and gameplay as baseball. By leveraging the common aspects of rounders and baseball, we can introduce baseball to more children. We work in partnership with GAA Rounders clubs to provide coaching and equipment.

BASEBALL EXCHANGE Program

Our Baseball Exchange program brought teenagers from Ireland to America to participate in baseball camps and clinics. The program also sent US coaches to Ireland, to provide instruction to young Irish players and their coaches. The Baseball Exchange program was started in 2013 and ran annually until 2020. The program became part of the Irish Youth Baseball Program in 2021.
